        Just like with any other disease that can be treated fairly easy, shingles immunization is something that most physicians and patients aspire to and wish to achieve at some point. Basically, the shingles immunization procedure assures that the patient will never suffer from any sort of shingles attack or reappearance in the future. Now, everyone needs to understand that this is not exactly a precise process. Thus, what works as shingles immunization for a person might not function for the any other.

        However, there are some ground rules that seem to apply to everyone when talking about shingles immunization: for example, if a patient has had the shingles vaccine, then he or she will not manifest the physical symptoms of shingles ever again.

       There are a few categories of people for whom the shingles immunization procedure is mandatory: those that work in medical areas, pregnant or soon to become pregnant women and people who work in the food industry. Since shingles is a viral condition, if these people touch an uninfected person or some sort of food or beverage when they go through a shingles crisis, the virus will infect everything. If the patient is pregnant, then the virus will pass through her bloodstream and straight into the child's nervous system. The consequences are dire both for the mother and the baby.
